Joseph Anthelme Sève, 1788 – 1860. Alias Suleiman Pasha, in later life. Known in Egypt as Soliman Pasha al-Faransawi or Süleyman Pasha the Frenchman. After serving in the French army during the Napoleonic Wars Seve worked with the Egyptian army training officers.
