Stone marking location of Carinhall, the country mansion of Nazi leader Hermann Goering, Gross Schönebeck, Germany

Until 2006 the stone stood at the site of Nazi leader Hermann Goering's country residence of Carinhall in Brandenburg, north of Berlin. It was then moved to the grounds of the Jagdschloss Schöneberg museum where it was photographed. The local authority had decided to move it from its original location because it was feared neo-Nazis may use it as a shrine. Carinhall was destroyed by the Nazis in the final days of the Second World War. This is one of the few remnants of it.
