Spider naevus

A spider naevus is a form of blood vessel disorder marked by a central raised red dot the size of a pinhead from which small blood vessels radiate. Spider angiomas are often linked with high oestrogen levels, as occur in pregnancy, or when the liver is diseased and unable to detoxify oestrogens.
