An historic old print of a scene near Grosmont village, North Yorkshire , UK, showing the Whitby and Pickering Railway (W&P) track with a train on it. In 1836 when its first stage opened it was one of the first railways in Yorkshire. It used a single track and a single horse and was 24 miles long,it was later in 1845 absorbed into the York and North Midland Railway and was converted into a conventional double tracked steam railway .
