Extinct amphibious reptile (Lazarussuchus inexpectatus) fossil. Lazarussuchus is part of an extinct order of semi-aquatic reptiles that first appeared in the Middle Jurassic. They were similar to crocodiles in their appearance,‭ ‬however they were not directly related to them. It was not a large animal, the body and tail length of this species is just over 30 centimetres. This fossil dates back to the Paleocene period, 57 million years ago. Found in Menat, Puy-de-Dome, France.
