A portrait of music hall performer (singer & dancer) LOTTIE COLLINS (1865–1910) who introduced the popular song Ta Ra Ra boom de ay to English audiences. It musical origins are said to have been from a boating song from the lower Mississippi in the USA. She came from a Jewish backgroud, her original family surname being well-known Hollywood stars JOAN and JACKIE COLLINS are said to have the same ancestors. Her career in music halls started aged about 11 with a skipping rope dance routine performed with sisters Eliza (Lizzie) and Mary Ann (Marie) as The Three Sisters Collins
