The makers of this tireare also producing a new inner tube w-hich is provided with aring of reinforced fabric on the side that comes in contactwith the beads of the tire casing. AMONC; till- recent liritisli patents is a machine designedfor slicing crude rubber into sheets, simultaneouslywashins the rubber and rolling the sheets. The ma-chine comprises a guillotine knife for cutting the rubber, twopairs of washing rollers and a pair of rollers l)el\veen whichthe sheets of rubljcr are run after washing, ihe drawings cutting stroke. Un the downward movement of the knitethe chain is slackened, the presser bar grips the rubber and thecycle of operations is repeated. During the cutting a stream ofwater plays over the rubber from the pipe -Y. As each sheet of rubber leaves the cutter it passes betweenihe pair of gro.)ved washing rollers O, where it is squeezed and to all.
