These images were taken on a normally very healthy and vibrant reek in Komodo national park in Indonesia. the area is known for highly variable water temperatures but in 2016 (an el nino year) the temperatures were unusually high causing widespread bleaching of hard and soft corals and anemones. thankfull most of the corals recovered as the temperature dropped again later in the year.
