Medical doctor and Navy Cmdr. Lynelle M. Boamah just completed a training session on identifying and treating diarrhea, while Herrera later trained the attendees on the importance and proper practice of breastfeeding. The training for rural health care workers is part of the humanitarian civic assistance portion of Exercise Balikatan 2012 (BK12), which officially started, April 16, with the HCA portion of the exercise starting earlier on March 12 with engineering projects to build two-room classrooms at five schools within the Puerto Princesa area. The construction projects are now over 80 percent complete and are expected to be completed by April 27, 2012. BK12, in its 28th iteration, is an annual bilateral training exercise between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the military to enhance interoperability between the two partner nations.
