The tail is nearlyeven. The female is not quite so large as the male; the headand neck are tinged with brown, the ear-coverts are not sodark, and the white of the lower parts is clouded with grey. The young resemble the female, and have the irides red-dish-hazel. Professor Sundevall states that both this and the preceding-species have a double moult.
