Oxford, England - 25 October 2017 In many years of watching the skies, I have never seen a teardrop-shaped cloud like this. Maybe a stratospheric puddle of cold air subsiding and condensing as it goes? I just love cloudscapes and skies. Mostly they are pretty boring, but others - like the one in this shot - can be startlingly beautiful. And, needless to say, you will never see the same sky twiceÉ So I often look up whenever I get a chance. After all, you never know what you might see. But I would advise not trying this whilst driving or crossing the road! Maybe all this is down to my being an air pollution scientist for many years, when I got used to perpetually looking at the sky.
