5TH FLEET AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY (May 7, 2013) Aircraft assigned to Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 7 embarked aboard the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) fly in formation with an Air Force KC-135R while an F/A-18F Super Hornet assigned to the Jolly Rogers of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 103 conducts aerial refueling during a combat mission over Afghanistan. Dwight D. Eisenhower is deployed to the 5th Fleet area of responsibility promoting maritime security operations, theater security cooperation efforts and support missions as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.
