The viper is poised and Sumatra: THESE INCREDIBLE images show a photographer getting up close and personal with Salazar?s pit viper discovered one three years ago and named after the founder of Slytherin house in Harry Potter. One image shows a snail daring to slide across the head of the calm viper, perching at a new vantage point and risking it all. The trimeresurus Salazar, known as Salazar?s pit viper, is a venomous snake, newly discovered in 2019. The snake was named after Salazar Slytherin from the famous ?Harry Potter? series. Within the books and movies, Slytherin is a famous Parselmouth, someone who can communicate with snakes, the house of Slytherin thus being associated with snakes and the typical green colour. These images were captured by photographer Yan Hidayat (44) in Padang, West Sumatra using a Sony A6400 camera. ?I let the snail walk along and approach the snake,? said Yan. ?I?m on standby waiting for the perfect moment for me to take a photo. ?Snakes have their own style without us having a hard time adjusting it. ?The distance I took pictures of snakes is about one mediadrumimages/YanHidayat
