In such regions the high-bush cranberry, which resembles it, is preferable. The blossoms of the cranberry are not so showy, but its ornamental red berries make up for that. Spirea. — There are many species of spireas, but Van Houten's spirea or the bridal wreath is easily the best of them, and is one of the most popular of all shrubs. It is a graceful and dainty bush and in early summer is loaded with a mass of white blossoms.
