CLEMATIS VITALBA (TRAVELERS' JOY) ROSA setigera (Prairie Rose). A vigorous wild rose of Michigan and other states. the parent of some of the choicest and hardiest climbing varieties, which are very popular for pillars, etc. 25 cts. R. s. Baltimore Belle. Blush or nearly white. 25 c. Bi. s. Gem of tjie Prairies. Rosy red, rather darker than Prairie Queen. 25 cts. and 50 cts. BiOSA setig-era, Queen of the Prai- ries. Flowers cupped, bright rose color, fading to pink. 25 cts. These are three of the hardiest and best climbing roses, that flourish almost everywhere. SCHIZOFHBAGMA hydrangeoides (Climbing Hydrangea). A climbing plant, with Avhite or flesh colored flow- ers, resembling some of the hj^dran- geas; a moderate grower, but very showy when large. 50 cts. TECOMA g-randifiora (Chinese Trumpet Flower). A moderate climb- er, with large orange-scarlet flowers four to six inches in diameter; very showy when in full bloom. It is a beautiful object when trained to a stake and made to assume the form shown in the cut on page 28. Wis- tarias and many other hardy vines are also very effective when trained in similar manner. It requires a little labor to keep them symmetri- cal, but their beauty when in bloom is ample pay for the pains. 50 cts. T. radicans (Trumpet Creeper; syn., Bigudiiia ixidicans). A stout and rapid climber that ascends to gi'eat heights and makes a picturesque covering for old trunks or ruined buildings, or rocks. 25 cts. T. r. atrosanguinea (Crimson Trumpet Creeper). A vigorous variety, with rather larger flowers than the common sort, and of a brighter color. When the three varieties ai"e planted near together and intertwine, the contrast in color is interesting.
