Ayodhya is an ancient city in northern India that has great religious and historical significance in Hinduism, as it is considered the birthplace of Lord Rama, a deity worshipped in Hindu mythology. In November 2019, the Supreme Court of India passed a historic judgement in favour of the construction of a Hindu temple at the controversial site in Ayodhya.
