The saguaro (Carnegiea gigantea) is a tree-sized cactus native to the Sonoran Desert in the state of Arizona, the Mexican state of Sonora, a small part of Baja California in the San Felipe Desert and an extremely small area of California, The saguaro blossom is the State Wildflower of Arizona. They have a long lifespan and, in fact, don't develop arms until they are 70 years old. Some have lived to 150 years. The largest known saguaro is meters ( ft) tall.
