Two panels of vivid 16th century Renaissance stained glass, made by the master glass artists of the city of Troyes in France's Champagne region, depicting Jesus Christ appearing to the Apostles after he was crucified and rose from the dead. The scene is part of the Resurrection window in the church of St Remy in the village of Ceffonds.

Ceffonds, Haute-Marne, Grand Est, France: The Supper at Emmaus and the Disbelief of Saint Thomas - panels of colourful 16th century Renaissance stained glass in a window of the village church at Ceffonds in the Champagne region of northeast France, made by Troyes master glassmakers. The Supper at Emmaus (left) depicts the scene told in St Luke's Gospel when, after the Crucifixion, two apostles invite a stranger to share their meal. When he blesses and breaks the bread, they realise their guest is the resurrected Christ. The subject was popular in Christian art, with its most celebrated example painted by the Italian Baroque artist Caravaggio nearly a century after this stained glass was made. The right panel depicts the Apostle St Thomas, commonly known as "Doubting Thomas" because, according to St John's Gospel, he at first doubted that Christ had risen from the dead. He changed his mind when Jesus appeared to the Apostles and invited Thomas to touch his wounds. The panels are part of a window telling the story of the Resurrection, made in the glass workshops at Troyes, historic capital of the Champagne region. It was installed in the Église Saint-Rémi de Ceffonds in 1512. The Ceffonds windows are typical examples of Champenoise School stained glass, made both at Troyes and elsewhere in Champagne. The Troyes glass masters produced Troyenne glass renowned for its intense blues, striking reds, vivid emerald greens and vibrant chrome yellows. Troyenne glass survives in many churches in the river valleys of the Aube, Marne, Upper Marne and Yonne. Apart from vivid colours, it often includes small narrative scenes and halos with beaded decoration.
