A l-inch nozzle will give the bestservice under all conditions. The pres-sure at the pump should be at least 80pounds, and if the mains are small andlong, or there is more than one gangof boiler-washers, 100 to 120 is neces-sary. The boiler should have two wash-outholes in the top of shell, 10 or 12 inchesfrom front tube sheet, and the same dis-.
