The magnificent Punakha Dzong was the second of Bhutan's fortified monasteries, built in 1637. Situated in the relatively low-altitude (1250m) Punakha Valley, it serves as the winter residence of the Dratsheng (Central Monk Body) of Bhutan, Asia
