In his introductory article,Mr. Campbell deals with the economicaspect of the question, and speaks of the importance to agriculture of good says: A century ago, the roads ofOntario, such as existed, and they werevery few, were mere trails. To-day, not-withstanding the amount of money andlabor placed on them, the majority are littlebetter than trails. This criticism may seemoverdrawn to those who drive over some ofthe best gravel roads during the summerseason, but, if the journey had been made.
