Escalators in Gae Aulenti square, Milan, Italy
The area of piazza Gae Aulenti, near Porta Nuova, is a new part of Milan city and consists in a pedestrian square with fountains surrounded by skyscrapers and other buildings. The square was in honor of italian architect Gae Aulenti. This square with its triumph of geometries, colors, modern views and arts, water games and shops has become a meeting place. The Unicredit tower, by architect Cesar Pelli, 2011, is the tallest building in Italy with a height of 231 metres. Under the square there is the "Food distrect" with a supermarket and many restaurants and bars. Near the square is the public park "Biblioteca degli alberi" and the skyscraper "Bosco verticale", designed by archistar Stefano Boeri, regarded as one of the most beautiful skyscrapers in the world.
