Fungal parasite on mosquito. Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of hyphae (white) of the Beauveria bassiana fungus covering the body of a mosquito (Anopheles sp.). B. bassiana grows naturally in soils throughout the world and acts as a parasite on various arthropod species, causing white muscardine disease and killing the host.
