Zachary Davenport, from Georgetown, Ind., assigned to the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), serves dinner on the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) mess decks. Makin Island, the flagship of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, is conducting integrated training with the 11th MEU off the coast of southern California, in preparation for a scheduled deployment.
