The 'Dolina dei Bersaglieri' is also known as 'Dolina dei Cinquecento', because a mass grave containing the remains of five hundred soldiers was found there. The picture shows the tomb stone that was placed on the grave : the inscription means : “... (12)6th -123rd- 124th- 138th Infantry and 15th Bersaglieri that found their glorious rest in this doline. This memorial stone was placed here by the 2nd Batteria Automobile 102, on ” (at the bottom, the author's incomplete signature).
