Workers inspect the Norway Spruce Christmas tree, a gift to London from the people of Norway and release its branches which were tied up for its journey by road and sea. Since 1947 the people of Oslo, Norway have donated a Christmas tree to the people of London as a token of thanks for their support during World Wat II.
