BEEKEEPING

Reportage on a beekeeper in Haute-Savoie, France, who produces organic mountain honey. Arnaud has 250 bee hives managed organically. The hives are moved throughout flowering, limiting the risk of coming into contact with pesticides. In order to collect the upper frames of the hive, which contain the honey harvest, the bees first have to be chased away with the help of a bee smoker. Part of the hive is chased away while honey is being harvested.
