Bolivian boy in soldier's uniform at an event celebrating 500 years of Luribay, a municipality in the José Ramón Loayza province of La Paz Department in Bolivia as renowned for its fruit production, particularly peaches, pears, peas and grapes as it is for the world's most dangerous roads. The Aymaran dances include la Morenada, diablada, tinku, which is a form of ritualistic combat, often quite violent and bloody. Some of these date back to the time of slavery. The dancing rituals predate the Spanish conquistadores and were continued under disguise where Andean gods were represented as Christian saints.
