Great Barrier Reef Marine Park meets Daintree rainforest, Shipwreck Bay, Queensland, Australia
Daintree, Queensland, Australia - 25 September 2015 - Latest figures released by Tourism Research Australia show that the spectacular reefs, rainforests and beaches of north Queensland's Daintree region generate a thriving tourism industry worth over $AUD500 million per year. However, even with 421,000 visitors per year in 2014/15- the highest for the past 8 years - it's still possible to find a near-deserted beach, as this aerial view of Shipwreck Bay in Daintree National Park shows.
