Victoria Street, Wolverhampton, late 1920s. A busy Victoria Street, looking from Queen Square. Some of the retail premises include James Beattie the department store, the Friendly Building Society, Tyler's the footwear specialist, C & J Russell Ltd the hatters and Johnson's the dyers. At this time, powered vehicles (here in the form of the motor cars) were prominent features on the roads. Note the policeman in white, directing traffic.
