Pineal gland lobulation, light micrograph

Human pineal gland lobulation and calcium concretions, light micrograph. With age, the pineal gland shows a progressive increase in calcium deposits in the form of calcium concretions. This is a pineal gland whose parenchyma shows clear signs of lobulation, with very well-defined lobes. There are also two small calcium concretions located in a connective tissue septum. In these septa, there are also abundant blood vessels.
