I donot know if Hospital A is being written up separately, but wish to take the opportunityhere to state that it was at first placed under the command of Major Shurly with CaptainHaughey second in command. When the first patients were received by Base Hospital36 Major Shnrly with Major Walker and others, was on an inspection trip around i;ranee,so the command of Hospital A devolved upon me. I had been in bed four days with theflu when the adjutant Captain McGraw. later Lieutenant Colonel, asked me to take activecharge of the hospital, as patients would be received within two hours. Within that two hours beds were placed
