Harvard IV G-GBPB aircraft seen at Headcorn, Kent


Built in Canada in 1953, the aircraft saw service with the USAF in Europe before being sold to the West German Air Force in 1958. The Portuguese Air Force took it over in the late 1960s before coming to the UK in the late 1970s. In the 1980s it became part of the Harvard Formation Team. It is currently (2014) in the markings it wore while in service with the Portuguese Air Force, This type of aircraft was used by the RAF to train fighter pilots.
