In this alone, of course, there is nothing sur-prising, but it seems curious that severalof these plates have come out sharp andclear and show no trace of motion. The movements of some breeds in par-ticular are enormously rapid, and thereseems to be a great lot of luck in veryfast photographic work, and even with themost rapid lens; the most restless speciesmay be secured in a quiet fiftieth part of asecond, and the most phlegmatic and slowspoiled in a restless hundredth.
