The palace was begun by Erik Ryning in the 1640's to a design of Simon de la Vallee. After he died large parts were not completed until 1770. The next owner Gottfried Sackenhielm used to run a tavern and a brothel. Today the building is occupied by the Supreme Court and the Labour Court. The portal has two female sculptures, faith on the left and hope on the right. They are thought to be by Aris Claezon. Along the top of the portal is Erik Ryning and his wife Maria Kurzels
