1953 Hawker Fury , Serial No. 37539, is owned by Anglia Aircraft Restorations Ltd and on the UK Civil Aircraft register as G-CBEL. It currently wears the markings of the 1945 first prototype Hawker Sea Fury for the Royal Navy, SR661 and is seen here being flown on a practice display at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford the day before the 2016 Flying Legends Air Display. The aircraft is powered by a Bristol Centaurus XVIII radial engine turning a Dowty Rotol R40/556/1 five bladed propeller. This aircraft was originally built as a Fury for the Iraqi Air Force - Fury ISS (Iraqi Single Seat). Subsequently it was imported to the USA as N36SF, then to the UK as G-CBEL. It then went to Australia in 2009 where it flew in a Royal Australian Navy scheme as '361' and was registered as VH-SFW, based at Moree in New South Wales. After being grounded for some time it was restored, flying again in April 2016, before returning to the UK in June 2016
