The 6 acre Pines Garden represents a blend of beauty, innovation and sustainability. Amongst the many features of this organically managed garden are a Lake, a sensory garden and sustainability trail for children, a grass labyrinth and organic kitchen gardens with over 40 different species of fruit and vegetables, from the exotic to the familiar! The Underlying theme of The Pines Garden is the exploration of old and new models for sustainable land management and sustainable living in general, with the garden having been run organically since Spring 2002. This is far more than just not using herbicides and pesticides and more to do with working in harmony with the natural systems, composting, recycling and learning how to use natural predators to control pests.
