Mars explorer recruitment poster. A NASA recruitment poster showing young astronauts with their teacher on the surface of Mars. The Martian moons Phobos and Deimos are visible in the sky. A number of crewed missions to Mars are currently being planned to explore the planet's potential for human habitation. The surface conditions and the presence of water on Mars make it a candidate for future colonization. NASA originally commissioned a series of these posters for an exhibit at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in 2009.
