Monument to the Azorean Emigrants. Ponta Delgada. Sao Miguel island. Azores
The monument has a size of * * m and consists of concrete steles, stone mosaics and three life-sized bronze figures. It shows an emigrant family that starts off into a better future. The father of the family points hopeful to the west - towards America. The Monumento ao Emigrante Açoriano was erected in 1999 by the cities of Ponta Delgada, Ribeira Grande, Vila Franca do Campo, Nordeste, Lagoa and Povoação in memory of the many emigrants who have left the Azores.
