A splendid mirror, France, 2nd Empire, 1852 - 1870. Richly carved and plaster decorated frame, gilded in places. At the top an imperial eagle in a laurel wreath with laurel garlands below. Floral decoration on the sides, and on the bottom is an inscription panel with the imperial monogram "N". Plaster decoration is cracked. New gilding on the obverse side, covered with clear coat in places. Remnants of the old gilding are still visible. Has a new mirror glass. 93 x 121 cm. Frame Dimensions: 164 x 209 cm.
