View from Tomehamn. The tugboat "Lajla" on Torneträsk during the construction of the national border track. Building railways in wasteland and in particular as isolated areas as these north of Kiruna demanded extensive efforts for transporting staff, supplies, equipment and materials. Up to Kiruna, transport was passed by quickly building a runable track from Gällivare. When the railing in the autumn of 1900 reached Torneträsk, it began to pass most of the necessary goods that road and further with the motorboat Laila along the line or winter time with sleds.
