Supervision during distilla-tion is no guarantee, for the ingenious peasant is inthe habit of sprinkling essence of Geranium over thefreshly-gathered Roses before distillation, in order toincrease the yield. Congelation at a certain tempe-rature, which is principally relied upon as a test ofpurity, is quite fallacious.
