Engaged wholly in cranberry activities since 1919, Mr. Nash had, become a leader, who was always consulted for his opin- ion as to what was best for the progress of cranberry growing. For years a director of the Amer- ican Cranberry Exchange, his affil- iation was closest with the Wiscon- sin Cranberry Sales Company and of the national fresh fruit co-oper- ative. His influence, however, embraced the entire structure of the cranberry industry. He had withdrawn from the ACE director- ship, but this summer had. been prevailed upon to become a direc- tor of the Wisconsin Following his death at Wiscon- sin General Hospital, Madison, where he had gone from his home, 1020 Oak street, Wisconsin Rapids, about three weeks previously, ex- pressions of bereavement came from other leaders in the cranberry industry and from community leaders in his native Wisconsin region. As in thje cranberry world he was a noted and active worker in Boy Scout affairs, edu- cation, and other matters. Mr. Nash was 69, and his death was caused by complications of an ailment from which he had suffered for 30 years. With him at his death were the only surviving members of his family, his son. Dr. Philleo Nash, Washington, D. C, who is a special assistant in the executive offices of the White House, and his daughter.
