Most of our readers are i^robablyfamiliar with the story of Shaksperes own i:)rcsent as a godfather to the sou of Ben Jonson. It isfound in a manuscript in the British Museum, bearing the title of Merry Passages and Jests,compiled by Sir Nicholas Lestrange. Such parts of this manuscript
