It is among the first to ripen ; fruit of large size, always smooth, irm-fleshed, and has very few seeds, especially in the early mils; ripens evenly, through and through; a fine glossy rose n color, tinged with purple ; very productive; the plant is ilways loaded with fruit, as it has joints at frequent intervals, md each joint produces large clusters of from 3 to 7 fruits. This is a very productive variety, ripens nearly as early as 'Spark's Earliana,' but is much more desirable for home use as the fruits are thicker through and more solid. The plants are of healthy growth and the Tomatoes are borne in large clusters. Color bright scarlet and quality good, being sweet and free from acid taste. See Colored Plate Opposite. CRI^SOIS BEET. This Beet is remarkable for its smooth skin and fine shape. We have been growing it on our trial grounds for several years, and could not help noting its many desirable qualities. It is a second early variety, does not grow large and coarse, the matured Beets being medium in size and rather oblong in shape. The flesh apd skin are both very dark and quality fine, being sweet and tender. The tops are small and dark in color. We are confident that this l^eet will please all who plant
