Andnow I begin to realize something of the magnitudeof the work that has been done by this church;and as I see them marching upward to Zion, bring-ing their sheaves with them, I indulge the hopethat in all coming time at least nine women andfive men may be found here to perpetuate theorganization that was effected seventy-five yearsago, and which today we NEWTON CENTRE SCHOOI^-HOUSE AND THE P. O. S. OF A. BUILDING if my father can look down upon this celebration,(and who will dare to say he cannot, for are theynot all ministering spirits) and if I could hear hisvoice, what do you think he would say? I imagineit would be something like this: My son bear aloftthe banner of Newton church; unfurl it to thebreeze of heaven; transmit to coming generationswhat we have bequeathed to you. Yes, my friends,this is one of the happiest days of my life. I amso thankful that my life has been spared, and Ipermitted to partioipate in this celebration; and asI stand here today within these sacred walls onPresbyterian Hill, my thoughts go on before me,and my feelings and vision are akin to those Johnhad when on the isle of Patmos. I seem to see agreat throng gathering from North, South, Eastand West, and they are all coming toward this hill,and as they come nearer 1
