SIR STKPIIKN DKMLTKIADl, Sir Stephen was educated at Marlborough, and began hiscommercial career in >Lin<hester at the age of 18. He thenwent to Liverpool, London and Calcutta, and has since beenclosely associated with Indian trade. During the liuropeanWar he was especially active on the various Gox-ernment-Appointed Committees concerned with the award andadministration of Pensions, and after the Armistice becamea member of the Conunittce appointed to control the exportof Indian wheat.
