Soldiers of the 1-189th medical evacuation unit secure an injured Soldier on a gurney for air transport during a training exercise in the Black Hills, April 5, 2017. The 1-189th had two forward operating bases in use during the exercise, one at Fort Meade, Sturgis and one in Custer, to increase their response time.
