British geneticists Alan Robertson (1920-1989, left) and Douglas Falconer (1913-2004, centre) with American botanist and geneticist Carl Epling (1894-1968, right). Robertson is best known for his work on the genetics of animal breeding and the artificial insemination of cattle. Falconer is best known for his work long-term selection response in mouse body weight. Epling is best known as the foremost authority on the mint family of plants (Lamiaceae).
