THE EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN TENNESSEE P W A R D S of thirty years ago, a numberof the members of the Lutheran Churchin Tennessee became dissatisfied with thestate of that body, deeply lamenting thatin their judgment the spirit of piety hadgreatly declined, and the most importantdoctrines of Christianity were either deniedor concealed. They therefore took mea-sures to organize a new body, under thename of The Evangelical Lutheran Ten-nessee. Synod. Other bodies of a similarcharacter, in Missouri and elsewhere, havebeen since the last official publication of this body, in 1853, we givetheir Constitution, as adopted in September, 1828, including their ownaccount as to the Confession of Faith.
